After the failure of Shock Treatment (1981), The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s only filmed sequel to date, there seemed no point in making the final film in what would have been a projected trilogy of films.
For those who haven’t seen Shock Treatment, here’s a recap of what went on. Most of the movie occurs in Denton (”The Home of Happiness”), which is one giant studio. Brad and Janet are now married, but they’re under strain due to the nefarious plans of Farley Flavours, corporate owner of the ‘reality television’ community in question. Janet grows tired at Brad’s lack of ambition, so Flavours exploits the wedge to manufacture a singing career for Janet, while Brad is dumped in Dentonvale, a ghastly soap set in an institution.
Fortunately, Brad and Janet’s friends, Betty Hapschatt and Judge Oliver Wright, break Brad out of Dentonvale, and he has a confrontation with Farley, revealed to be his evil twin. Then they drive off into the sunset.
Because Shock Treatment tanked, we were deprived of the third and final episode in the projected trilogy, Revenge of the Old Queen. Happily, online script copies exist of the enterprise, which goes something like this:
Fifteen years or so after the events of RHPC, his mum, the Old Queen of Transsexual Translyvania, is still trying to find her deceased offspring. She dispatches her cousin, Lord De Lordy, to Earth to try to locate him, and he falls for Secret Agent Judy Blankmire. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Secret Agent Steve Majors wants to track down the Transylvanians himself. He blames them for turning his brother, the late Brad, into a bottomless Vegas go-go dancer. Poor Brad fell from a trapeze, and was buried only wearing a choker and high heels.
Janet gave birth to Sonny, Frank’s son, and now does sex work, and has really let herself go. As for Riffraff, Magenta’s death has turned him gaga. After much teleportation to and fro, we end up fifteen years beforehand, where Riffraff doesn’t quite get there in time to change history and avert Frank’s death at his hands. The Old Queen is reunited with her grandson, dies, and bequeaths him her status as the Great Furter of Transsexual. He kills Lord de Lordy and Judy, and Steve is left a shambling wreck. Riffraff is in an uncomfortable situation, as the son of his victim is now in charge of his planet. Ah well, there’s still…Magenta’s corpse…

Oh, and as for Brad, the choker was rhinestone, and the heels were of six inch height…
