A peer support group for HIV + men. Meets on a monthly basis, first Tuesday of the month.
Internal purpose: Making the best of living with HIV, Establishing individual goals for our lives, Supporting each other in reaching these goals, Socialising together, Keeping abreast of health issues, Empowering each other to stay in control of our lives, our health.
Extraneous purposes: A place for those newly diagnosed to feel at home, A source of people who can speak out about HIV in the community, A source for written communication, A group that can respond to current issues on HIV, A source of energy for fundraising for Body positive, Setting up of block courses for: Returning to the work force, Public speaking and facilitator Training, How to cope with diagnosis including issues like staying healthy, housing, winz, assertiveness training and self esteem, conquering self destructive Addictions.
We meet at a member's house for a shared meal to start with and then have sometime to have a group chat and discussion on what is happening for us and offering support to those who need it. Because from time to time we all need it.

Auckland Pride GLBT Fibromyalgia support
Currently a phone support group for gay lesbian bi & transgendered people with Fibromyalgia syndrome.
Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic pain disorder of the body's muscles & connective tissue with other symtoms ranging from fatigue, sleep disorders, memory problems(fibro fog), depression & irratible bowel & other symtoms related to this illness. FM can effect anyone at any age and as yet there is no known cause or cure.
This is a new support for new or long term GLBT persons with FM. At present I only have phone support but I am looking at expanding to a weekly social group. Any one with or anyone able to help with phone support funding, for a place to hold meetings, P.O.Box or anything else please feel free to call me.

UniQ Auckland exists to foster and further the interests and well-being of all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, takataapui and fa'afafine students (hereafter referred to as queer students) at the University of Auckland.
We gather at Alleluja café in St Kevin's arcade on K Road every Thursday at 6pm during semester time. Our gatherings are weekly, and they provide a social environment where you can chat and meet new people and make friends. We hold and promote activities beneficial to the university life of queer students, and aim to secure the co-operation of the students association and the University in doing so. We're part of a network of queer groups at tertiary institutions around New Zealand.
While many of our activities are social, such as movie nights, we have also been involved in political campaigns and lobby for queer students on campus and nationally.

garden visits on a Sunday afternoon - usually the third Sunday in the month. There are also other functions, Mid-winter dinner, Christmas party, Big Gay Out stall, etc. Visits include afternoon tea and raffles. Garden entry charges - if applicable - are subsidised for members.

Auckland Gay Tramping Group
Monthly tramping trips in the Auckland area normally on the second Sunday of the month. The tramps vary in difficulty from month to month and for most tramps you only need basic gear. Auckland Lesbian Softball Team
This lesbian softball team is the only one in Auckland that competes on a weekly basic. The games start in late October and run through till April with a break in the middle for Christmas and New Years. We are currently looking for new players to join our social side. We are looking at all different skill levels, even if you havn't picked up a bat since school. We are a fun team that loves to play the game and then socalise afterwards. Established in 2008, the Elevenses Group is a gay mens Luncheon Group where one can meet other friendly guys at a Pot Luck Lunch. No membership fees,just a $2 donation to the host to cover tea/coffee, but you bring a plate of food suitable for a lunch, which is about anything.
