Okay, I’m really starting to get annoyed at the Diana Conspiracy Theory industry. Remember, conspiracy theorists are prone to rejecting mainstream social instructions, professional expertise and evidence-based critical inquiry, and instead preferring “hidden” knowledge from subcultural “luminaries” who claim to be the “only ones” in possession of “The Truth.”
Conspiracy theorists and fundamentalist Christians also tend to be overlapping constituencies, propelled largely by unquestioning loyalty to their similarly ignorant leadership, and feeling a sense of outrage that evidence-based scientific and medical research doesn’t tend to agree with them on virtually all matters of public policy, with the exception of the euthanasia dehate. Thus, it was no surprise to see Ian Wishart’s Investigrunt tragic tabloid gutter glossy hawking yet another contribution to this nauseating speculative genre of nostrums and folktales.
For heaven’s sake, this is beyond belief! She’s been dead for just over a decade and a professional inquest is being held to dispell precisely this rumour and hearsay. They shouldn’t have bothered- the conspiracy theory industry won’t listen to anyone “captive” to mainstream rationality.
Whatever happened to respect for the dignity of the dead, compassion and reticence when faced with one’s still grieving relatives? I sincerely hope that the late Princess of Wales family, especially Princes William and Harry, are not exposed to this offensive drivel.
The “raving right” should be ashamed of themselves.

Regards Mohammed Al-Fayed’s testimony to the inquiry, this had us on the floor with mirth: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/main.jhtml?xml=/opinion/2008/02/19/do1905.xml

I can see why.
I can see why. Mr Al-Fayed is entitled to grieve for his lost son, but to be charitable though, at least he has an excuse. Unlike the conspiracy-
mongering DCI in general, which is doing it just
to get cheap media exposure and dosh from book
sales to the gullible
